Throughout 2015, there has been a recurring theme. That theme is the number 21. I'd like to take the time to point out the significance of the number 21 in liquidfish's past, present and future.
The past — 21st fastest-growing company of 2015
In 2015, liquidfish was recognized by the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber as the 21st fastest-growing company in OKC. If I have realized anything this past year, it's that while growth has its rewards, it also comes with some major challenges. Throughout 2015, we've been hard at work implementing new processes to help alleviate some of our growing pains. With being so internally focused the past year, we haven't given much attention to community involvement. That being the case, I've decided to make a few changes.
The present (punt intended) — 21 donations
This holiday season, liquidfish is asking 21 clients to select an Oklahoma City-based nonprofit organization of their choice. We will be making a donation on their behalf as our gift to the community as well as to our clients. We are very excited about doing this for our city and hope our clients will be just as thrilled. (And, who knows? Maybe some sweets are on the way, too!)
The future — 21 days of volunteering
At liquidfish, our employees have 20 days of paid time off annually. I'm upping that to 21 days in 2016. Our new policy will allow each of our 21 employees to take an extra day off of work every year to volunteer at a 501(c)(3) of their choice. The sum? 21 days of giving back to Oklahoma City in 2016! I'm excited to see everyone on my team get more involved in the Oklahoma City community. As we do, we'll make sure to take photos and update everyone here on The Current.
